Ancestor Story

When I was in sixth grade we studied African culture. One of our assigments was to write a story. I recently found this and thought you might enjoy it.
Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess from Africa. Her name was Adaeze, a name which was passed down from generation to generation. She was born with all the necessary blessings, and she was perfect, but the ancestors were not happy with the king so they sent a messenger to capture his beloved daughter. This messenger must have the stealth of a wildcat but also the speed of a gazelle. The council of head ancestors decided to send Abeeku, the fastest and stealthiest member of the council.
In the dead of night Abeeku crept out of the spirit world and into the living world through the cave of whispering souls, which was where all the unready spirits were caught. Children and babies’ spirits were kept there for eternity. As they floated through the cave their loose bodies got caught on the walls and they could not escape to the realm of ancestors.
As Abeeku floated through he thought of his past in the cave of whispering souls, he was the only spirit that had managed to escape. Abeeku wasn’t really an ancestor since he had died as a teenager and ancestors had to be an elder, but he was a respected member of the council for making it out of the cave. As he made his way out of the cave he started to feel human again and he realized that until he got back to the cave he would be human.
Abeeku walked to the castle and snuck through a crack in the gate. He made his way over to Princess Adaeze’s room and with a sudden burst of speed he snatched the baby and ran all the way back to cave, but when they reached the cave Adaeze started bawling and that is when Abeeku realized her spirit was being taken out of her, so he rushed her to a farmhouse and left the baby there with a note that said: Take care of Adaeze.
After Princess Adaeze was captured the king realized why she had been taken. The ancestors were not happy with the keeping of their shrine. Immediately the king gave orders to make the shrine more beautiful. It was tended to everyday in hope that the ancestors would be pleased and return Princess Adaeze. The king hired a shaman to tend to it and give the ancestors everything they wanted.
Fifteen years later…
Abeeku kept a constant watch on Adaeze as she grew up as a farm girl. She grew tall and slim and was very beautiful, her adoptive parents, who had been childless, took her as a blessing from the ancestors.
Abeeku was getting tired of the spirit world. It was so plain and dull. All black and white and just marshes and little abodes. What had happened to the legend that said heaven was of pleasant breezes? Abeeku felt like going back to the living world for a little bit. Since ancestors have total power over their living relatives he asked his good friend to make his grandson take a vacation so he could use the house.
Abeeku moved into the house a week later and started making it more homey. When he went to the market he saw a sign announcing that the prince was ready to marry and any girls between the ages 14 and 17 should attend a party. There the prince would choose his new wife. Quickly, Abeeku ran back to the spirit world and told the council that he planned on revealing Adaeze’s true identity the night of the party. The council decided the king had suffered enough for the crime of not taking care of their shrine for many years, and since he had been taking such good care of it since the princess’s capture they agreed to put Abeeku’s plan into action.
Abeeku walked (he had done a lot of running and was tired) all the way back to the living world and knocked on Adaeze’s door. He explained to her that she must go to the party, so she agreed to it. On the night of the party Adaeze walked to the palace. Soon it was obvious the prince would choose her as his wife. The king’s ancestors made him think of his daughter and her birth mark on her ear. It was a strange place for a birth mark so she could be recognized by it. He also thought of her face, and he just had to take a peek at his son’s selection. As soon as the king saw Adaeze he knew she was his daughter. He took her aside and asked if she had any birth marks. She replied yes and showed him the one on her ear. The king dragged her to the stage and announced in an almost yell, “My daughter has been found!”
Adaeze didn’t see how this connected to her until she recalled that the lost princess’s name was Adaeze and that is when she realized she was the princess. Immediately the queen ran up to her and hugged her, and the king lifted her high in the air. The prince was disappointed that he couldn’t marry her, but he was happy she was his sister and would be his child’s aunt.
Everyone was happy that night. The ancestors where happy and the royal family was happy. Princess Adaeze ran home to tell her adoptive parents that she was moving to the palace and that she would ask if they could move in too.
Two years later…
“Umm, father?” said Adaeze.
“Yes, darling.”
“Umm, I have found the man who I would like to be my husband.”
“Wonderful! Who is he?”
“Umm, Jelani, the tax collector’s son.”
“Brilliant, just the right kind of man. I will arrange the wedding immediately, oh and, make sure your adoptive parents know. Okay?”
“I already told them and they approve.”
“Great!”
One Month Later…
Jelani and Adaeze were married in the palace gardens. Even though tradition stated that Adaeze should live in Jelani’s house the king made an exception, so Jelani and his family moved in the palace and everyone, including the ancestors and Abeeku, lived happily ever after.
The End

summer is boring.

Wow. It’s been almost a month. And I haven’t updated once.  It’s not like I’ve been away and couldn’t update, I’ve been sitting here at home being bored to tears. Wow, I really am a terrible blogger. I wonder if I blogged just once a month my posts would be better. Anyway so much has happened I don’t know where to start.
First things first…
HARRY POTTER. I’ve now seen the movie 3 times. It’s epic. And I don’t use that word lightly.
CREW CAMP. I was supposed to do two weeks but I was sick for the first so I didn't go. But when I finally did go the second week I had an amazing time. Unfortunately there was a heat wave during that one week so for Thursday and Friday we weren’t allowed to go out and row. Instead of crewing on Thursday we saw Harry Potter (it was my second time), and on Friday we did the most intensive work out I’ve done in my life. It was awful. We each sprinted 500 m on the urgs, and let me tell you I have never felt worse in my life. I felt like I was about to pass out, I was literally soaking wet from sweat, and the room was extremely crowded and not air conditioned well. Two kids actually threw up. Other than that it was awesome.
RIHANNA. I went to my first concert ever!! We saw Rihanna and she was great.
BRITNEY SPEARS/NICKI MINAJ. My second concert ever. Both Brit and Nicki were phenomenal.
Other than that nothing has really happened. It’s been a boring summer.

Summer Colds Suck

Hi,
The reason I haven't posted in like forever is because I've been sick. I had a fever which lasted two days, which has now become a cold. A very bad cold. My voice sounds like that of adolescent boys, whom my Chorus teacher refers to as "Crackers".
But I decided to take advantage of this time and have been watching Glee for the past week. I finished season one and decided to re-watch season two. Unfortunately only the first half of season two has been released so now i have to wait :(
Also on a sour note i have yet another swim meet today. And i am swimming fly -- TWICE. I think i may die.
Also I replaced Aliki's Top Tens with Aliki's Top 40 so check that out or give suggestions.
Okay Bye.

My rant on teenage literature

You know what really grinds my gears? Have you ever taken a look at the young adult section in borders? And did you notice that more than half the books there are about teens who end up in mental hospitals? No joke. I was there the other day, browsing around, and I read the back of, oh, maybe 20 books, and all of them were like:
Hi. I’m a depressed teenage girl. I’m in a mental hospital. Yay me!!
Or
Hi. I have a huge crush on this guy. But he’s kind of weird. He likes to suck people’s blood. Yay me!!
Or
Hi. I have a huge crush on this guy. But he’s kind of weird. He turns into a giant dog at night. Yay me!!
WTF
What is this world coming to? I’m seriously concerned about teenage literature. All anyone seems to read about are:
a.    Vampires
b.    Werewolves
c.    Creepy relationships between normal people and not normal people (vampires and werewolves)
d.    Depressed teens
What is this world coming to?
Our summer reading books aren’t much better.
A Separate Peace by John Knowles?
If you haven’t read it **SPOILER ALERT**(kind of, I'm just repeating what Wikipedia told me)
He kills Phineas by pushing him off a tree. AND HE’S NOT EVEN THAT SAD ABOUT IT. WTF.
Not to mention Lord of the Flies or as I prefer to call it The Pig Book. **SPOILER ALERT** (once again this is just what Wikipedia has told me)
The boys eat each other. CANABALISM MUCH???
Ugh. Writers nowadays sicken me.

50 things to do before summer ends

Hello,
Summer is supposed to be the best time of our lives, right? Think again. Summer is so boring. Like really boring. I have absolutely nothing to do until mid-July. Then I have camp for two weeks. But then I have the rest of July and August. And swim team ends in July. Which means August will be the most boring month ever. At least now I go to swim practice and meets. So I googled 101 things to do during the summer. And I looked through the lists and some of the things were really stupid:
“ask random people to give you piggyback rides.”
WTF
So I decided to compile all the things I thought were worth doing and I added a few things to make my own list of 101 things to do this summer. So here goes:

Swim Team

Hello there,
Well I just got back from England. It was fun. Like really fun. But I don’t wanna bore you out by talking about how much fun I had. Because usually when people do that it gets boring. So I’ll talk about swim team. It’s something I do every summer. I hate swim meets. I am the worst person in my age group. Swim practice is horrible. But I love swim team. I could never go a summer without doing it. It’s one of those things that no matter how much you hate it, if you take a step back you realize you love it. Also I think if I quit my team mates would come to my house and murder me in my sleep. But I still love ‘em. I’ve had the greatest and the worst memories as a result of being on the team. I’ve been embarrassed, cheered on, laughed at, laughed with, and everything you could ever ask of from an unforgettable experience. My summer pretty much revolves around swim team this since I'm only doing two weeks of camp and the rest of the time I’ve basically got nothing to do. Unfortunately I haven’t been to one practice this year, and I have a swim meet tonight. And I'm swimming FOUR events. 50 free (individual), 50 back (individual), 50 free (relay), 50 back (relay). Since freestyle is my stroke I don’t mind doing it, but backstroke is… well… I need to practice it. A lot. And it doesn’t help that our swim meet an away meet at a new team, so I don’t even know what the pool is like. Oh well, this too shall pass. Wish me luck.

Pet Peeves

A few of my pet peeves, in no particular order:
1.    When you can see people’s gum in a picture. No one wants to see your chewed up trident layers. It’s nasty. And it doesn’t make you cool. It’s just gross.

2.    When toothpaste gets stuck in the cap of the toothpaste bottle. ARGH. It. Is. So. Annoying. When. That. Happens.

3.    Feet. I don’t like feet. Please don’t show me your foot unless its absolutely necessary (going swimming, etc…) It’s weird though because I don’t mind when people wear flip flops, it just bothers me when people are barefoot.

4.    On YouTube when the audio quality of a song sucks. OMG it gets on my nerves so much.

5.    When people complain that they are going to fail a test, when they quite clearly, won’t. People who do this, you know who you are, STOP. It’s really annoying to those of us who are actually nervous!

6.    People. Sometimes people suck.

7.    When people hack your account. This recently happened to my facebook and whoever did it deleted like 30 pictures. ARGH.

8.    When nail polish chips. Really nail polish, really? I spent like an hour trying to get you perfect and a day later you decide to chip? *shaking my head* Not cool.

9.    When a website is down for maintenance. OMG that’s so freaking annoying.

10.  Num lock and Scroll lock. What do they do???

11.  When people don’t text me back. ARGH. REPLY ALREADY!!!
Okay the end.
Wish me luck on science and latin!

I have a cold.

The title says it all. There are a few things you should know about me and colds though.
1.    I used to get a cold almost every week because when I was a baby I was not given this shot to stop sinus infections (which were what my cold were)
2.    I get BAD post nasal drip.
3.    My lips get really dry when I have a cold.
Having a cold during final exam week is not ideal. At all. First off you have to keep bugging your teachers to bring you tissues. Then once you have the tissues you can’t blow your nose because you don’t want to make any loud noises, and trust me, when I blow my nose it is loud. So you get stuck with a drippy nose. It doesn’t help that your head is facing down so it drips even more. Ew. It’s nasty. Luckily I only have two more exams, and the whole weekend to get over my cold. Also today is my Pappou’s (grandfather’s) 95th birthday!
Bye Bye (:

more exams

Hello,
So as of today I am halfway through exams! Thank God! Tomorrow is English, as you probably already know. My first three exams went well so I'm confident. I'm still just nervous for Monday. That is going to be one of my most stressful days ever. Legit. I’m terrified. I can’t wait to just get English out if the way. There are going to be a lot of essay questions about themes and stuff so worst case scenario I can make up a whole lot of crap about the theme and still probably get a good grade. It’s just going to hurt my hand. Which is not ideal since it still hurts from the social studies exam and my French exam. And I’ve been practicing baseball (catching, throwing, batting) which has also been hurting my hand. If only I were ambidextrous. My life would be so much better. The nail polish on my right hand wouldn't look like a four year old did it. My hands wouldn't constantly hurt during exams week. Last year on one of my English test I wrote so much that I could barely use my right hand for the next week. I just hope that doesn’t happen again, because my Latin exam will inevitably consist of a lot of writing (synopsis, translations; the whole 9 yards).
Also a little news flash tomorrow is my grandfather’s 95th birthday!
Um other than that nothing else has happened. O btw I will be away from the 11 to the 21 so don’t expect any posts during that time.

Final Exam Week

Hey there,
So seeing as finals are all this week I figured I’d talk about them. In my opinion, people freak out over them and make them a bigger deal than they really are. First of all, they are meant to sway your grade. The most damage they can do is lower your grade from a B to a B- . So really, that isn’t that bad. I also feel like people freak out and cram, when in reality the best thing you can do is NOT FREAK OUT. Just study for them like you would a normal test, the only real difference is that there is more material. I also wish people wouldn't tell you that you’re going to fail if you’re not locked in your room studying a week before them. Like really, you’re that much of a spaz? Take a chill pill. For real.
This year we a have one exam per day, which may sound less stressful, but in reality it’s just making me more nervous. In previous years we’ve had two exams per day, which hasn’t been that bad. I’ve always had the perfect amount of study time, and because the exams were more condensed I had less time to get nervous, unfortunately, this year I will have too much study time, and more  than enough to freak out.
Whenever I study for exams I eat kettle corn and wickles (spicy pickles). Not together obviously, but that’s what I snack on.
This year my exam schedule goes like this:
Tuesday: Social Studies Exam 9:00-10:30
Wednesday: Math Exam 9:00-11:00
Thursday: French Exam 9:00-10:30
Friday: English Exam 9:00-10:30
Monday: Science Exam 9:00-10:30, Latin Exam 1:00-3:00
Our social studies exam is on abolition and women’s rights, and every time I try to study I get really depressed because I have to read Frederick Douglass, and all this horrible stuff about slavery and I get really sad, and I have a hard time concentrating. I’m glad it’s my first exam so I can get it over with.
My Math exam is on Algebra I. I get everything except I'm a little unstable on the stuff we learned like a day before exam review so I have to work on that.
I'm really good at French (not to brag or anything but it’s definitely my easiest subject), so I feel confident about the exam.
My English exam is on Romeo and Juliet (kill me now), and The Odyssey. It’s not that bad since there’s no grammar involve, but I absolutely HATE Romeo and Juliet so I’m not exactly looking forward to revisiting it.
My last day of exams will definitely be my hardest. First off Science is my hardest subject, and my teacher is half psycho-path. Luckily that exam will be all multiple choice and fill in the blanks which I’m really good at.
My last exam will be Latin. Where do I begin? Latin is tied with Science as my hardest subject. I’m good at it, but it confuses me. I don’t really understand it, but I do. I don’t know where I stand with it. Luckily my teacher is a really easy grader so I think I'm in good shape, I’m just…nervous. I don’t want to blow it on my last exam.
I just can’t wait until this week is over, it’ll be like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders.
Seven days.
That’s it.

random stuff

Hello,

I just wanted to say, that if you didn't already know, the school year is almost over. This makes me very happy. Like you have no idea. Just this last week, and ERBs and then exam review, and then exams, and then exam return day, and then graduation and then freedom. Freedom. Actually England. But that’s still pretty close to freedom. Anyway the point is there will be no more STRESS. Yesterday I was the most stressed I’ve been all year. It was kind of pointless now that the worst is over.

OMG MY PHONE KEEPS RANDOMLY LIGHTING UP AND ITS GETTING ON MY NERVES.

Anyway a few guys from THS visited TBS for a little while today. It was actually pretty funny. Our chorus teacher told them that she calls boys their age “crackers”.

You can imagine the reaction from us.

We get to see their whole grade on Friday because we are going to an amusement park with them. Unfortunately, it’s supposed to rain. Hard. Joy. Looks like I’ll be wasting money on pointless games and fattening foods.

Week report time: Semi formal was fun, we won music in the parks, yoga on the steps was painful but I won the tank top design contest so it was all good.

You know what really bugs me?

People who get obsessed with something and wont stfu about it. It also bothers me when people tell me to lower my kilt. And when people are nosy. Or annoying.

I told my science class about my blog is carbon neutral the other day. I kind of did a bad job of explaining it. I think people thought I was really weird for knowing about it.

I have a really bad headache.

Yesterday I made a butter cake for my French class. I hated it. Everyone else loved it. It made me want to throw up there was so much butter in it. And having post-nasal drip doesn’t help that.

I suck at basketball.

Legit.

So for the rest of this post i will tell you about THS' production of "James and the Giant Peach".
It was really short. But it wasn't that bad. It was actually pretty good. And i kind of met someone there. Actually I already knew who he was (cuz EVERYONE talks about him) but i actually was introduced to him last night. Um, other than that the play was pretty normal. Oh I almost forgot, the character Ladybug DROVE ME CRAZY SHE WAS SO ANNOYING!!!! I know that the girl was supposed to act that way but it was driving me nuts! Other than that it was good. So tomorow is Mother's Day so I probably won't post so um yea

A Lot of Random Stuff that I Feel Should Be Addressed

Hello,
Here are a few random facts i thought I might tell you:
  • THS (our bro school) is having their play tomorrow. It is James and the Giant Peach (losers...).
  • Happy Cinco de Mayo!! For those of you who don't know what Cinco de Mayo is, then Google it because I don't feel like explaining it.
  • I am learning to play Come Home by OneRepublic on the piano. After a year of learning this one long classical peice, I am now doing some modern music that I actually like.
  • I climed a rusty ladder today.
  • Semi-Formal is on the 13th.
  • Music in the Parks is on the 14th.
  • Yoga on the Steps is on the 15th.
  • Talk about a busy weekend...
  • On the 20th we are going with THS to a certain amusement park that shall not be named here for privacy's sake.
  • Later that evening there is TSS Dance.
  • This could end up  being very bad. Very very bad.
  • School is almost over!
  • THS is Gryffindor b/c they have the same colors. Despite the fact that Gryffindors are supposed to be chivalrous, and THS boys are as a majority not, I believe they have potential (maybe...).
  • AIS is Hufflepuff b/c they have the same colors and they are friends with everyone. (Oh, and they are also particularly good finders!)
  • TSS is slytherin b/c of their colors. To be honest, personality wise they should really be Hufflepuff and AIS should be Slytherin...
  • TBS is Ravenclaw b/c of the colors, and we are total nerds.
  • I am obsessed with Starbucks
  • Mrs. S has officially gone insane. Not like she was sane before, but now it is official (in my book at least).
  • I have run out of things to say

Hello, Girls

Hello,
So as most of you  know i am in chorus, and today we sang with the Haverford Celebrantes. let me just say it was something i would have enjoyed missing. To start off no one, not even the boys, knew we were singing together today. We came to chorus and Mrs. S was like, "The boys are here!" and everyone was like  "Say whaaaaaat??" We sang one song together with them, and then we sang two songs of our own and they sang three. Theirs were great, even though they barely have any people, they are all phenomonal compared to our larger, but still small chorus. We then sang our two songs. Let me just say that we barely knew either of them. The first one, entitles "A Joyful Gloria" wasnt that bad. We never learned the ending so we juyst skipped to the last page and did the finale. Then came the worst song known to man. "Hello, Girls". Let me just say that this is not the type of song we should be singing around boys. For those of you that dont know the lyrics this is how it goes:

Hello, Girls
Listen to my voice
Don't you ever marry no
Good for nothing boys
If you do your doom shall be
Hoecake hominy and sasafrass tea
fa la la (etc..)
Young boys walking down the street
Yong girls think they look might sweet
Hands in their pockets
Not a dime do the find
Oh how tickled,
Poor girls mine
fa la la (etc..)
When a young man
Falls in love
First its honey
And then turtle dove
After he's married
No such thing,
"Get up get and my breakfast,
You good for nothing thing!"
fa la la (etc..)

As if the lyrics werent bad enough we barely knew the notes either so it ended up sounding like a train wreck and there were parts when no one was even singing and Ms. H, our accompanist was. just playing. After the singing we were given cookies and told to "socialize". Many people knew eachother so they were talking, but about three of us knew no one and we were stuck looking like losers. Also, there was this one 6th grade boy, surrounded by 6th grade girls who were yelling at him saying, "Why havent you sked her out?!" "You should ask her out!" "Why havent you?!" To which he replied, "I dont like her that much..." I was like 6th graders are psychos...
so that was the highlight of my day today

Weddings

So as most of you know, today was the royal wedding of Prince Something and Kate Middleton. I watched the very end of it when the prince kissed her twice in social studies. We then made two videos telling them "Ello! Congratulations! Go England!" in english accents of course. Her dress was okay, i really only saw the top half, but she's gorgeous anyway. So i was inspired by this event to talk about my hate of weddings.
People always say, weddings are sooo romantic. What is romantic about standing at the alter for an hour or so, not doing anything, and then makingout in front of your parents, and then having people throw rice at you? Sure, the first dance is cute, but what happens when you trip or step on their toes? And then you have to go around to everytable and say hi to everyone, even your annoying cousin Bob who doesn't shut up. Ever.
Not to mention its not much fun for the guest either. The service is boring, the kiss awkward, and the reception... Well, i personally hate dancing so that is probably part of why i hate receptions. The music is blasting, the seats are assigned, your shoes are killing you, and you have nothing to do. For hours. I'm sure many people have had good experiences at weddings, i just havent, and im not sure i will ever get over the trauma of sitting at a table, and not being able to hear yourself think, for hours on end.
I guess it's not just specifically wedding receptions that i hate, it's more parties in general. For instance: I cried, or almost cried during every bat mitzvah party last year. The two baptism parties i've ever been to were a living hell, and of course so were all the weddings i've been to. Maybe it's because i dont know anyone, or all the people are over 80 years old, but somehow i have come to hate weddings. Maybe when it's mine my mind will be changes, but i've heard weddings are the most stressful thing known to man.

Crazy People

hello,
i really don’t know what to say. The only reason I’m typing this is because I have to look busy in social studies. I already finished my story and I'm super bored. I’m listening to the song Crystal Ball by Keane. It’s actually really good. It’s probably my favorite song by them. I’m really sorry i haven’t updated in like two years or whatever but i haven’t had anything to say. My life has been pretty up in the air recently. Actually, it hasn't i just kind of wanted to use that expression. So, what happened while i was gone? Well, we had spring break, and a lot of things happened then but i know you've all heard about that, and i'm not about to tell the world about my life in complete detail, because honestly, i don't want to. I went to a dance. It sucked. Badly. Easter happened. That also sucked. Badly. Yesterday this crazy lady came to our science class to talk about her writing. All i remember from it is that she used the expression "damn straight". And that she writes childrens books. I also heard some high schoolers talking in the locker room saying she came to their assembly andd said "shit" about 20 times. And then started making all these weird accusation. I kind of wish i had been there. I love seeing teachers go all crazy. I wishh i had been in the class where are art teacher, Ms. C had gone crazy. I'm actually really happy she did go crazy though, because now we have this awesome art teacher. He is like my favorite teacher now. I decided i would write a lot just because i havent written anything in a while and you guys deserve something long. At tbs we have a lot of crazy teachers. I'm not trying to give the school bad publicity, but we have some pretty insane teachers. Most of them are in the arts feild which would probably explain a little, but still. These people are insane. I have pachelbel cannon stuck in my head right now, but not the pretty part, the annoying part. I'm sorry i'm being really random in this post but i'm writing what i'm thinking and my thoughts are ussuaslly pretty out of order. we had elections this week. I ran for president but i didnt win. The weirdest people won this yyear. I'm not saying i shouldve won nescessarily, but i think really weird people won. What else happened? Nothing really. The weather is nicer now, but you could figure that oout by walking outside. April is almost over, and i'm really excited for May. mainly because that means the school year is gonna be done REALLy soon. which i am really looking forward to. The stress is really getting to me. I dont know what else to say, and i figure this post is pretty long so i hope your happy. O and i wont gaurantee a post everyday (because face it thats not happening) but i will try to post more than once a month ok so bye.

if all ur friends jumped off a bridge would you?

the title of this entry is the one question that bothers me. a lot. when i say a lot i mean i have many reasons for not liking this, but first i must tell you a scenario. If all your friends favourite colors were blue and yours was pink but then you changed it and your parents said "if all ur friends jumped off a bridge would you?" you could give them the following arguments
I. yes i would, because i would be bungee jumping, something thats totally safe and very fun.
II. no, because changing your favourite color is not life threatening, while jumping off a bridge is (this can only be used if you dont use argument I.)
III. no, because im just doing this to better my social situation and that means i wouldnt be jmping off a bridge because i wouldve graduated from hanging with the suicidical people to hanging with the normal people, all because i changed my favorite color to blue. Therefore it is life saving because you have a higher  chance of killing yourself if you hang out with the people who actually think about doing it than when you hang with the normal people.
there probably could be more arguments but im really tired an i am definetly not in the mood to think

JBIEEBS

Hello,
first off im SSOOO sorry for not posting in a week. It's been crazy lately. First we had a long weekend, then we had a two-hour delay, and now im posting. to be honest i have absoloutly no idea what to post so i guess i will talk about the Justin Beiber movie that i saw the other day. To be honest i think his story is great, and i do think he's very talented, and the fact that he's doing this as a 16 year old is pretty awesome, but it just depresses me when i see those screaming fan girls with those signs that say "the future mrs. beiber", or "i <3 JB", etc... It also depresses me when i see people walking around with justin beiber's head on their shirts, like really, do you really want to walk around with someones head on your shirt. And the fact that he's not completely weirded out by these people shocks me the most. If i was in his position i'd be like, "do me a favor and stop walking around with those shirts, it's just kinda stalker-ish and obsessive." As for the signs, he's not gonna marry a groupy. sorry ladies but he's not gonna marry you just because you know all the lyrics to his every song, and just because you go to all his concerts, he will probably think your really creepy and file a restraining order against you. Saying that, i do think he is really really talented and i do like his stuff, i just think people should stop obsessing over him.

Valnetines Day and Everything In Between

Hi
sorry this post is gonna be one with crappy grammar and spelling but im in a rush and i dont feel like cleaning it up. anyway sorrry i havent posted in a couple days i've been busy. anyway for our first item of the day: Valentine's day: a day to pointlessly give candy/flowers/chocolates to your friends and that "special someone". But to be honest i think Valentines day sucks, i didnt used to think that, but then my science teacher (one of the Mrs. B's), said she hated Valentine's Day because if someone id going to love you they should love you everyday. That started my change in views, the next thing was that in lower school, and even last year, people gave me stuff (candy, cards, etc.) but this year noone did, thirdly im single, i mean i have been for every valentines day of my life so far, but i feel like less people were single this year, and lastly i ended up spending valentines day at my grandparents, doing homework, eating yesterdays rice, shriveled up steak, and these cookies that were $3 each and my grandfather started freaking out because he thought they were so over priced, so now i have converted to the valentines day hating team. I think part of that was also the fact that im sick of reading about love from R&J and its just been getting on my nerves lately.
Now for our second item of the day: everything inbetween. actually to be honest not much has happened "in between". ttommorrow the quebec and puerto rico trips are leaving, and i cant hide the fact that im a little dissapointed im not going, but whatever, i get a whole 4 days to just chill, and possibly shop. For sspring sports i will do waterpolo, unless im the onnly person doing it, then i'll do softball. I played once in 5th grade and i wasnt too bad at it, but i really love waterpolo, especcially because it preps me for my swim season in the summer, which is ussually brutal the first week or so.
once again sorry this post isnt grammtically or spellingky correct but im kinda in a rush

Latin Project and a Cold

Hello,

So recently I have been working on this Latin project thingy, and to be honest I have never been more stressed/upset about anything ever before. I made a model of the Parthenon, except it didn't really go as planned. My original idea was to make everything out of clay including the inside, and the statue of Athena (I made the model look like it had when it had just been built). That idea quickly morphed as I was faced with a time limit and many obstacles. First I decided instead of clay for the columns I would use wood, and I would only make the outside. I got the columns all ready and then I tried to glue them down. With a hot glue gun. Bad idea. Apparently hot glue melts foam board, so I would blow on the columns and they would come tumbling down. This happened about twenty times. I was a wreck. Yesterday I finally got help and started using wood glue, which though it did take forever to dry, did the trick, and now my model Parthenon is finished and I am happy. I know I won’t win the city-wide contest, but I don’t care. That thing has given me so much trouble when I get it back I am going to smash it to bits and then burn it. I vowed I would never cry so hard again. Here is a picture of it.

The other thing that has been stressing me this week is this cold I have. It is so annoying I have a runny nose, and watery eyes, and i keep getting a little itch in my nose and then I feel like I have to sneeze for like a minute and then I can’t sneeze. It’s so unsatisfying. Do you know how annoying it is to feel like you have to sneeze but to not be able to? It’s very annoying. So that’s all for today.

Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet, the classic story of forbidden love; there are too many references made in pop culture to name, and everyone knows the story. Before this year I really didn't think too much about the story, but now that my school is giving us an overload of Romeo this, Juliet that, I am being forced to think about it. To start out we are reading the play. It’s okay, I'm not really pro-Shakespeare, but it’s not horrible. On top of that we are watching the old Romeo and Juliet movie and the 1994 one with LEO DICAPRIO <333. In addition we just saw the opera Romeo and Juliet. It was bad. It was in French. It was four hours long. It was on my half birthday. Teachers still assigned us homework. Let’s just say that I really did not enjoy the experience.
To be honest though, I don’t know why everyone makes such a big deal out of the story, I mean halfway through I get sick of it and just want them to die already, everyone’s happier that way. Their death is actually a good thing. Why couldn’t they have just killed themselves in the first act? It would have saved the world a lot of time. I just don’t understand why people make such a big deal out of it. I know Shakespeare “created” the forbidden love idea, but really do you HAVE to worship him? It’s almost as bad as Justin Beiber (I mean how people are obsessed with him, not how he sounds/looks).
Okay, if you really want my opinion I think the story is a waste of time. I mean they just die in the end anyway. I also think it is way over-referenced and way over-used (as in pop culture references).

After the Super Bowl

Hello,

So as all of you should know the Packers won!! Though I probably should like the Stealers (my dad’s dad grew up there or something). Anyway I just watched the halftime show and a few of the ads, my favorite was this one for Audi and it was mocking Mercedes. You should YouTube it if you have the time. The other thing I watched was the Half-Time Show, which featured the Black Eyed Peas, Usher, and Slash. I have to say Slash definitely preformed the best out of all of them. The cheerleaders were also very good though too. Usher’s dance routine was good, but I don’t think he was singing. Will.I.Am and Fergie’s mics glitched the whole time, you could also tell that they were auto-tuned somehow. Also in the beginning when Christina Aguilera sang the anthem she screwed it up. When the girl who plays Rachel from Glee sang America, America she did a good job. Umm… theres not really much else for me to say, so ttfn

The Super Bowl

Hello,
So today, as most of you know is the Super Bowl: an excuse to have parties, eat fattening foods, and drink a lot of beer/soda. As some of you may know we had some English exchange students here around Halloween, and they asked why we make such a big deal out of Halloween. I thought about this question for a while (more like 30 sec. but you get the point) and said, “It’s an excuse to have parties.” Of course, it’s also an excuse to dress up, eat candy, and act like a kid again, but that got me wondering, do Americans make big deals out of little things as excuses to have parties? That is what I believe happens with the Super Bowl.
I do understand football, but something I don’t understand is why men like it so much. What is it about the sport that draws all males to it? Anyone care to answer? Thanks.
I have also realized that the Super Bowl is the world’s central of advertisements. I think it’s probably the most watched program every year, so there’s always HUGE competition to get an ad in. This competition also makes the ads some of the most memorable/funny/talked about the next day ads ever.

Coffee Shop

Hello,

Saturday, finally. This week hasn’t been too crazy but I really do need a break. Oddly enough though, I’m trying to get all of my work out of the way instead of being lazy. I need to get working on my Latin project which is due in little more than a week, and I need to continue to de-clutter my room. I also recently found this adorable coffee shop near my house. I think it’s called Green Bean Coffee, and they also serve freshly made sandwiches, soups, salads, gelato/sorbet, and yummy little baked goods.

To be honest I really don’t know what to say today because today is really just going to be a boring day. When school starts again on Monday I will have a lot more to talk about. Oh and sorry I didn't blog yesterday but as soon as I got home we had company so I really didn't have time to blog. So have a good day and hope Phil (the groundhog)’s prediction comes true and we do have an early spring.

The Dance Assembly

Hello,
So today I was forced to sit through one of my most dreaded assemblies of the year – the dance assembly. This assembly consists of watching the middle school dance team make fools of themselves by trying to dance to fun songs. Though the music selection is generally pretty good, and the costumes aren’t too bad either, the dances are, well, bad. They can’t help it though. First off they are dealing with kids from ages 11 to 14. That’s a pretty big gap in terms of ability, so some of the dances are really easy and are quite frankly boring, while others are more interesting but are too hard for some of the girls causing it to look like a train wreck. Since the girls don’t have to try it can get pretty, er, interesting. Really the only reason you would take dance is because you either want to get on the dance team in high school (which is actually pretty good), or you don’t want to do a competitive sport.
The next bit of the assembly consisted of watching the high school dance team perform, which although painful to the ears (a.k.a they have AWFUL music) is pretty pleasing visually. To get on the team you have to try out which is definitely why their team is WAAY better than the middle school team, apart from the fact that they are older girls and usually take dance classes out of school. Overall it was a waste of my valuable G-block resource, which only comes twice a week. The worst part was at the end though, when they announced the high school would be having a fashion show and TEACHERS WILL BE MODELING. KILL ME NOW. PLEASE.

my life is boring

Hello,

I have decided that I will try to post every day, the only issue is that well… my life is a boring heap of schoolwork and strange funny moments. And to be honest I doubt you’d like to hear about my daily teasing by sixth graders, or my quest to find the perfect time to microwave chocolate chip cookies for, or my super boring lamplighter meetings that I spend sitting on the floor and just thinking that being bribed to join with promise of free desserts and drinks was probably not my wisest decision. I also doubt that you’d like to hear about this huge science project we are doing that consists of making at l east 75 note cards (check), an abstract and outline (most girls’ are almost six pages long, but mine is only three and it’s making me very nervous)(check), and a power point presentation. I also doubt you’d enjoy hearing about how whenever I try to practice my piano in the main hall the receptionist always yells at me and my friends. So, to be honest I doubt you’d enjoy hearing about anything I do. Which means I’ll have to let you into my head and tell you about my thoughts.

I'm Back!

Hi,
So as some of you may know, this is the first day I can blog!!! If not look at the post before this. To be honest though I haven’t come up with anything really to talk about in my blog post yet, I started to make a list, but couldn’t think of anything. I have also made some new year’s resolutions as to what I will be blogging about; this includes no talking about teachers, or friends without their permission. I will also try to blog at least twice a week, even though I probably will have nothing to say most of the time. Unfortunately my life isn’t very interesting , and I don’t have the ability to make tiny little things seem exciting, if anything I usually make them more boring than they should be, so if you have any ideas as to what I should blog about PLEASE TELL ME!!! Otherwise you’ll probably end up hearing about my few nail polish colors, which to be honest is a pretty boring topic.
